In this way, we hope Queenstown residents can "breathe a little easier...

Hi MyQueenstown Team, I am a divorcee with an elderly mother and 2 school going sons, aged 16 and 13. As a single parent, I am currently working in a travel agency to support my family. My elderly mom fell down recently and had problems moving around. Initially, I intend to employ a maid to take care of my mom. Subsequently, I was put off with this idea because my mom is unable to communicate with the maid. I am looking for a day care centre. Please Help.  -Mdm Cecilia Lim, Strathmore.

MyQueenstown replies: Your mom will be delighted to know that her daughter is willing to take care of her despite her temporary handicap. Gaining family support when the going gets tough is important.

Finding a daycare centre in Queenstown can be quite difficult. However, residents who face similar problem like Mdm Lim, may consider engaging Queenstown Multi-Service Centre, located at 150A, Mei Chin Road. It is a stone's throw from the MRT Station.

Queenstown Multi Service Centre offers a wide range of services ranging from rehabilitative treatment to daycare services. There are qualified nurses and physiotherapists within the centre to conduct basic health screening and monitoring, rehabilitative treatment and daycare for frail elderly. These day care services are provided for elderly whose members are out for work during the day. While rehabilitative treatments look after the physical health, social interactions and recreational activities cater for the psychological needs of the elderly.

You can call 64736511 or email enquiry@qmsc.org.sg for more information.

Hope that helps!
